Obesity... you have to do something different!
16.09.2009 08:39:48

I don't need to see more people and I don't need more new patients! But if I don't, who will???? The world needs Maximized Living!! Got Health?  Want Some?  Come Get Some!!!  303-814-3980

A few quick facts before we get to the scary visuals...

**Americans spent $117 BILLION (yes, billion, that is not a typo) on obesity related economic costs in 2003 alone.

**As of the year 2000 Americans spend more than $110 BILLION (there's that billion word again) on FAST FOOD!

**Americans now spend more on fast food than on higher education, personal computers, computer software or even a new car!

**Each year, Americans spend approximately $50 billion a year on diet and weight loss.

**The food industry has an annual advertising budget of $30 billion. That's alot to go up against.

Now to the good stuff (not really good, but enlightening at least).

Obesity rates in the year 1985. I'm sure you notice the "CDC" on the chart. This is their research.

Light Blue indicates state obesity levels under 10%. The medium Blue is 10-14%.

_______________________________________

Colors indicate same numbers, you'll just notice they cover alot more area.

_______________________________________

Adding a 3rd blue... this dark blue indicates a 15-19% rate of obesity in the state. Notice the entire country is now "on the chart"!

_______________________________________

Another categoryis created... Beige is a rate of 20-24%!

_______________________________________

So enough with the gradual color adding, let's go for 2 new colors!! Orange indicates obesity levels of 25-29% and the red is 30% or higher!

_______________________________________

So we don't see any new colors, thank goodness, but we do see the orange and red expanding.

_______________________________________

So, what happened? Why did we not make a big fuss out of this when we only saw shades of blue? Don't you think that fact that we ran out of blue shades to use should have thrown up a red flag? I guess not considering 99.9% of the public has never even seen these charts.

Now, what are you going to do about it? You may not be able to turn the whole chart back to light blue all on your own, but you can change the outcome for the most important person, you!

Come be a part of the mission... your life depends on it!

Maximized Living is a valuable ally when you decide it is time to revamp your nutritional practices. A good place to start is by keeping a food diary. Over the period of a week try keeping track of everything that goes in your mouth. Don’t cheat. Write down everything you eat and when you eat. Soon you will have a good picture of your eating patterns – what you crave and when; meals you skip and how you make up for them. Pay attention to “red light foods” that you can’t stop eating. Few people overeat on apples or broccoli. On the other hand, some of us could eat an entire pan of macaroni and cheese or a whole bag of cookies.

There is an adjustment period when you change the type and pattern of food intake. For the first few days the body may not be comfortable. If you have decided to kick a caffeine habit, you may also experience some headaches which is often due to  the body detoxiifying. The good news is that when the body gets used to solid, well-balanced nutrition, typically after 2-4 days, a new chapter begins. The body’s old cravings diminish, then disappear and new, healthy cravings emerge. Your body will want foods that are good for it – fruits, vegetables, dairy products, lean meats, or fish, to name a few. Many people report actually craving salads for the first time in their lives. When your body is getting the nutrition it needs, your quality of life will improve dramatically.

As a certified Maximized Living Health Center, we are a wise choice to bring on board as your one-stop health and wellness coach.  We can perform the latest, state of the art evaluations, then help you develop a workable lifestyle plan to support you as you work to reach your goals for a healthy, happy, active lifestyle.
